A student-run team at Harvard College. We argue appellate cases and write the briefs behind them, in competition against colleges nationwide.
Who we are
Pursuing the law as undergraduates
HUMC educates students about legal policy through the simulated legal argumentation provided by the American Moot Court Association. Members work from a case each season, argue both sides of it, and compete at invitationals against teams from other colleges.
No prior experience is required.
What we do
Three parts of a season
Oral Advocacy
Argue cases before panels of judges in simulated court proceedings.
Brief Writing
Write legal briefs setting out the written argument for your side.

Legal Essay Contest
Open to high school students in grades 9–12. 850 words, $100 first prize, judged by our team. Deadline October 2, 2026, capped at 100 entries.
